Low Cost Virtual Phone Systems

February 16, 2009 No Comment

There are many options when it comes to finding a virtual phone system.  You have to figure out what your needs are and then think about what happens whne your business grows.

There are many companies that offer low cost phone virtual phone ssystems and services.  When I was looking around I found companies that range from $50 – $30 a month for the service and then many of these companies will then charges you a per minute fee.  Well this can get expensive depsning on your call volume.  What these system do is provide you a 800, 877, or 866 Toll Free Number that customers can call.  They receive a virtual office mailbox and can then usually pick an extension and have the phone call routed to another phone number where your customer service representative can answer.  This is a pretty flexible service.

When I started researching companies for myself, I found what I thought was a very inexpensive solution.  Kall8.com offers $2 a month phone service that can be routed toanother phone number.  This sounds great, howver on this plan they onlyroute to one phone number.   They do provide email notificatiosn of voicemails as well.  They also charge about 7 cents a minute.  Depending on call volume this could add up.  Also thinking about expanding your business, this does not provide mutliple extensions, unless you upgrade to the $25 a month plan.

I found a solution another company that provides the solution that works best for me.  American Voice Mail.  They provide a flat rate all inclusive package for $15 a month.  No per minutge fees, and provide you up to 10 extensions.  This look very interesting to a small business that thinks that it may expand evenutally.  Even if all roads lead to you, by saying Press 1 for Customer Service, Press 2 For Sales, and they both go to you, that is great!  It gives you a big company appearance for $15 a month.  Fixed costs each month are a good thing!

Well, this is just two of the companies out there providing vitrual phones systems and virtual phone services.  You truly have to read the fine print before making a decision.  The hidden fees can sneak up on you pretty quickly.
